After a brutally mild LA winter, the time came this weekend to pick Lem’s lone Meyer Lemon (pictured above w/his limey friends). But what can you do with just one lemon? We decided to do the responsible thing and make Gin & Tonics.
Lem is technically a ‘Dwarf Meyer Lemon Tree,’ so it’s not as if our lemon output will get us off the grid anytime soon, but it’s still pretty cool to now have a resource that’s offsetting our need to go to the store - even if it’s just a little. There aren’t many things you can make these days without needing to go to a store (and that includes making food or drinks from scratch). I like to think of Lem as a little symbol of our ability to self-sustain even if it only means free garnish for bi-monthly G&T’s :)
I love the way all the little tonic bubbles bind to the slices of citrus… -Marcus
YUM! Next on my refresh- drink menu!
